María José is the Programming Director for Hawk The Vote. She is from Bogotá, Colombia, and studies both International Studies and International Relations with minors in French and Arabic. In this role, she will increase awareness and interest in different avenues of civic engagement, in addition to our voter registration and election-related engagement. Outside of Hawk The Vote, she serves as an At-large Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), President of the Hall Association Working for Catlett (HAWC), an International Student Ambassador, is an active member in the Student Advancement Network (SAN), the International Advisory Board (ISAB) and the University Honors Program. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, watching action movies, listening to music and reading history books.
